Emily met Jaden through her next door neighbor, Taylor. She must have grown up around Jaden too, but she didn’t remember him. When Taylor got home from his mission, Emily’s mom gave out her number. Although Emily wasn’t happy about it, it ended up being the best thing her mom has ever done for her.
Taylor texted Emily to say that his friend Jaden wanted her phone number. Relieved it wasn’t Taylor (next door neighbors are more like friends, right?!), they texted each other while he was vacationing with his family in Hawaii. By the end of the week, she forgot Jaden’s name, and he was known as “Hawaii boy.”
Emily tells more of their story after he returned from the land of aloha:
“We tried to go on dates, but stuff always came up and eventually we stopped talking. We always joke that God had a back up plan for us, because as luck would have it, I ended up signing a contract to be roommates with a random girl, who I later found out was Jaden’s younger sister!”
Emily and Jaden ended up going on a drive together…each with a friend, just in case it was awkward (sound familiar to anyone?!).
“I remember meeting Jaden for the first time and trying not to drool. I remember looking at my friend and mouthing, ‘DIBS!’ That was a year and a half ago.
If you told me that night that I would be lucky enough to marry Jaden Adams, I probably would have laughed at you. He’s so out of my league, but sometimes we just get lucky. Jaden is the sweetest, most patient, hard working, loving, teddy bear of a guy you will ever meet. It’s the greatest feeling being in love with your best friend. I’m the luckiest girl to have married my Hawaii boy!”
Emily and Jaden, your love is going to move mountains. And this post is going to prove that Jaden is not out of Emily’s league!
